Putting people at ease
Founders, staff and guests rarely love being filmed. I keep the set calm and unhurried, so the moments that make it to screen feel real rather than rehearsed.
About
East London based filmmaker.

From BBC and ITV drama sets to brand launches, festivals and sport, in the UK and abroad.

I’m Jack Howard, the person behind Crown Videos.
I started out as a camera trainee to cinematographer Alan Almond on BBC and ITV dramas including Silent Witness and Poirot, then went freelance in 2012 in the hectic world of music events, clubs and festivals. Today I make films for brands, agencies, events and private clients — across the UK and internationally.
For larger projects I bring in a trusted crew of camera operators, editors, sound recordists and assistants. For most, you deal directly with me.
What I’m good at

01
Founders, staff and guests rarely love being filmed. I keep the set calm and unhurried, so the moments that make it to screen feel real rather than rehearsed.

02
Live events, tight run-of-show, changing light — years of broadcast and event work mean I stay organised and adapt quickly without dropping the quality.

03
Considered framing, clean lighting and a careful edit and grade. The look is always polished, whatever the budget or format.

04
Drawing out honest, articulate answers and shaping them into a story that lands — for case studies, brand films and documentary work.

05
Comfortable travelling and filming in demanding environments — from corporate HQs and working laboratories to festival fields and international sporting events.

06
Sensible timelines, honest quotes and files delivered ready to use — including cutdowns and vertical edits for social from day one.
